Staff Profile Ms. Catherine Hammond |

As Assistant Curator of Art, Ms. Hammond assists Curator Lugene Bruno with all activities of the Art Department, from the conservation of artworks to the preparation of tours and exhibitions. She received her B.A. in Art and Theatre from Knox College and her M.A. in Art History from Rutgers University, where her research focused on the artistic use of trompe l’oeil and hyper-realistic styles in the communication of social concerns. She has interned at numerous museums, including the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art in Connecticut, The Lower East Side Tenement Museum and the Brooklyn Museum in New York and the Zimmerli Art Museum in New Jersey. Most recently, Ms. Hammond spent four years as Associate Curator at the Huntington Museum of Art in West Virginia and is currently a member of the Association of Art Museum Curators. Her personal interests include exploring her new home of Pittsburgh with her husband, going to concerts, museums and art galleries, hunting for mid-century furniture, and trying new recipes from her favorite food blogs.
